The Carlops Jazz Band are home again for the annual
Carlops Jazz Night. Our lead vocalist Anthony Bowers
will be joined by a guest vocalist, Janet Guild, and
no Carlops Jazz Night would be complete without the
 lovely Carlopettes!

In addition to our regular mix of jazz standards and
popular songs we have some new numbers made famous by
Al Green, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles, plus some
sparky jazz tunes by Benny Golson, Art Farmer and Bud
 Powell.

We'd love to see you on Saturday 12th May at 8pm, at
the Village Hall in Carlops. Tickets are 8 pounds,
available from Rumbling Tams in West Linton or from
Gail Jackson on 01968 660695, children are free.
Glasses and the customary snacks (even more generous
amounts this year!) will be on the tables but please
 bring your own bottle

Grab a few friends, a table and come down to the Carlops Village
 Hall to enjoy the music!</pre>

<p><P STYLE="font-size:large;color:blue"><strong>Sorry &#8211; SOLD OUT</strong></P></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&#8220;One wintry evening, Prudencia Hart, an uptight academic, set off to attend a conference in Kelso. As the snow begins to fall, little does she knowwho or what awaits her there. Inspired by the Border Ballads &#8211; and delivered in a riotous romp of  rhyming couplets, devilish encounters and wild karaoke, Prudencia&#8217;s dream-like journey of self-discovery unfolds among and around the audience&#8230;.</p>
<p>&#8220;With a rollicking live text by David Greig, barnstorming live music and a &#8216;terrific, inventive sense of fun&#8230;&#8217; (<em>The Scotsman)</em> <strong>The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart </strong>is the lock-in to end all lock-ins&#8221;</p>
<p>**** The Scotsman   ***** The Herald   ***** The Times</p>
<p>Tickets at £8 (£6 concessions) are available from myself by replying to this email or by phoning me at 01968 660388.  <strong>Book soon!</strong>  This is a cabaret style performance and seats will be strictly limited. I&#8217;m already taking bookings from as far afield as Manchester and the Lake District &#8211; NTS is doing a great job of advance publicity!  The performance begins at 7.30 pm and lasts approximately 2hr 30 mins</p>
<p>More information at <a href="http://www.nationaltheatrescotland.com/">http://www.nationaltheatrescotland.com</a>  -  or pick up a flyer at Carlops Village Hall</p>
