Carlops is a Church of Scotland congregation linked with West Linton, and Newlands and Kirkurd. We are an inclusive congregation, welcoming members of all denominations and everyone interested in exploring Christianity.

Carlops parish stretches from Silverburn to the boundary of West Linton parish. Wherever you live in the parish, someone nearby can tell you about the church and its activities; make contact at any time if you want information.

Music

The church has a good 19th century organ, an able and enthusiastic organist and a congregation which enjoys singing. The church building is also used by local music groups for rehearsal and performances.

Eco-Congregation - our Eco Group promotes practical action on environmental issues and organises community activities.

Christian Aid - we organise a door to door collection in May and social events during the year.

Fair Trade – we manage a stall at the Carlops produce market, monthly in the village hall.

Sunday school - Children of all ages are welcome in church. Carlops has a long tradition of a small but active Sunday School.

Children join in the first part of the Sunday Service and then retire to the village hall next door, with two Sunday School teachers. Pre-school children are supervised in creative activities involving painting, drawing, music, or stories. Older children follow the Church of Scotland Adventurers programme. The Youth Fellowship meets in West Linton church hall on Sunday evenings at 7 pm.
